Methods

Usually the whole plant of the wild heartsease is used for remedial uses. The garden heartsease can't be used as a herbal remedy.

The main use of the Heartsease is to strengthen the metabolism. But it also has a lot of other uses.

Internally as a tea

You can prepare a Heartsease tea as an infusion or as a cold infusion.

Heartsease is also good as a part of tea mixtures.

The main use of the Heartsease is its blood cleansing abilites and to promote the metabolism. You can use it in springtime as a regimen to stop spring tiredness. This can help against rheumatism and gout, too.

The Heartsease is diuretic and antiseptic what makes it a good remedy against all kinds of problems of the urinary system.

The ability to dissolve mucus and spasm helps against respiratory diseaeses, from a simple cough to asthma and whooping coughs.

It can also help against arteriosclerosis and heartproblems.

Also problems of the nervous system can be treated with Heartsease. It helps against nervousness, inflammation of the nerves, sleeplessness and the tendency to get febrile seizures.

Plant description

The wild Heartsease grows in the middle of europe. It grows in valleys and on medium sized mountains. A cultivated brother of the Heartsease grows in a lot of gardens.

The Heartsease is an annual herb, that becomes up to 20 cm high. The stalk is hollow.

The leaves have long stalks and have the shape of an egg or a heart.

The flowers have long stalks also and they have several colors. Some are mainly yellow others have violett and white petals also.

The flowers are symetrical to the center, but th upper und lower parts are different. The two top petals look a little bit like ears. The lower petals have a big petal in the middle and two smaller petals at the sides.
