Lanolin Cream

This is a basic recipe that shows you how to prepare a cream with lanolin anhydrous as emulsifier.

The cream gets rather fatty and a bit sticky.

This type of cream is not so good for face creams but very good for medical creams.

You can use all kind of herbal oils and add tinctures instead of the water and essential oils as you like. Also other substances with healing capacities can be added, like zinc, that is good to heal the skin.

The trick when preparing a cream is to heat the fatty and watery substances in different jars. When everything is molten, the water is poured into the fatty mixture. Then you need to stir and stir until it forms to a nice cream and gets cold.

Ingredients

• 30 ml Herbal Oil
• 4-5 gr Beeswax
• 15 gr Lanolin anhydrous
• 30 ml Water
• 10 drops of tea tree oil or grapefriut-seed-extract

How to do it

1. Prepare the ingredients.
2. Put oil, lanolin and wax into a jar.
3. Put the water and/or tincture in an other jar.
4. Put both jars into a pan with hot water.
5. Wait until the lanolin and the wax is molten.
6. Then take both jars out of the water.
7. Pour the water slowly into the jar with the fatty mixture and stir it the whole time.
8. Stir and stir until you have a real cream and it is lukewarm.
9. Then you can add the conservating substances and essential oils as you like.
10. Stir again.
11. Fill the cream into a cream jar.
12. Close the cream jar and label it with content and actual date.
